Baltimore Emerging Scholars: Building Bridges for Bright Kids
The 25-week Baltimore Emerging Scholars program is a partnership between CTY and Baltimore City Public Schools, and the centerpiece of CTY’s service in Baltimore. It grew out of CTY’s recognition that using above-grade-level testing to identify students for its gifted programs was not reaching some Baltimore students who have the capacity to learn, but have not had the academic opportunities that would prepare them for the tests. CTY presents the 22nd annual Joshua Ringel Memorial Reading April 14 at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Join us for an evening of poetry by former Poet Laureate of the United States Natasha Trethewey.
